Miami based 'Arch-Angel Films' will be kicking off the S&S IV Festival with 'Robbery 101'. They will be on stage to answer any questions concerning the film or filmmaking in general.

A young man weaves a trap for himself conjured by a fundamental fear of rejection. His thought process becomes entangled while studying a fellow Bathroom Occupant who seems to never move, make a sound, or leave. His musing pushes his presence past logical reason until he is transformed into the object of his own questions.

This short film directed by Robb Chamberlain, was created for a film competition where a genre and subject were assigned... SUSPENSE: A fisherman hooks something that was never supposed to be found. The film was shot in 2 days and had to be completed in less than a week from writing to casting, shooting to editing.

Jake McCormick is a confused and sometime lost "ghost hunter" working on the outskirts of Philadelphia with a team of two other paraphychologists (Lenny and Robin). Jake has been contemplating his "ability" to see ghosts now for nearly 10 years. At first they come to him in a series of dreams, then they visit him when he's awake. This introduction to Jake and his team find him frustrated because he can't help a 'family' of lost souls find their portals to move onto the next world. The killer, the father (James Talbot), doesn't realize he's dead, thus tries to kill Jake. Jake's abilities are tested until Andrea Riley, a gifted psychic, comes into his life. Reluctantly Jake allows Andrea to assist in the 'ghost hunt' of the Talbot house. Jake has to determine what is 'real'`and what is not and finds he has abilities in dealing with the dead he never knew.

To Live is to Die - Icon Film Studios
A suspenceful thriller, where a group of college students share non-fictional stories. Strangely enough the authors fall victim to their own tales. Our story begins with an unknown man reading a book sitting under a tree. As he reads, the story unfolds and we are pulled into what appears to be a day in the life of a distrought young woman. As the story evolves, we are witness to the frustration of the young woman, unwilling to cope with the unbearable ignorance of her peers. During the forward process of the story we are stalled by the angst felt feelings of the young woman towards her fellow students. Each student is called upon to share a life experience through a unique form of a writting expression. As each story is shared, within the young woman, the anger and disbelief continues to grow. She watches on as if waiting for her own exacution. When called upon to share her creative vision, she is met with confussion and discouragement. She questions the criticism given to by her peers. This is where we see why she is so distraught. She discovers that even turning to a loved one does not silence the pain. A tragic event occurs, and a powerful force decides that an action must be taken for vengance...

Red McAllister (J.D. Sutton) is nagged to the point of madness by his wife, Safron (Peg O’Keef). According to her, the only thing he can do right is piss. Fair enough. Most guys are pretty good at that as long as there isn’t a toilet involved. Red wants to prove his worth, though, so he builds a robot. That’s right, his “Thinkin’ Machine” is a bona fide android that looks like a child built it. It’s got a bucket for a head, a View-Master for eyes and a copper nozzle for a penis. Saffron is attracted to the faux penis, and that’s where the plot revelations end. To go further will absolutely ruin the film, and this is one case where you really don’t want to know too much going in.

“The Monkey’s Paw” is based on the short story of the same title by W.W. Jacobs, published in 1902. The tale centers around a family living in an English villa in the early 1900s. The greedy father acquires an old mummified monkey’s paw, rumored to grant wishes, from an aging soldier. With the warning that the granted wishes come with grim side effects, the father takes no heed of the warnings and wishes anyway. His wish is granted, but at a great price, the loss of his only son. The family spirals out of control as the mother forces her husband to wish for her son back, not realizing the horrible reality of what her son will be like as he returns from his gruesome fate. The father, wanting desperately to believe that his son’s death was merely a coincidence, must decide how to use his final wish.
